Why we read books and why we shouldn't but probably still will anyway

My cousin had asked this question while I was browsing through Amazon for books. She keeps asking me this every time she sees me with a book and my answer had been this: "I like to read books because I get to imagine everything starting from the world, to the characters, to the occurrences and other aspects that make up the story". There are a lot of reasons why we read and I'm going to name some of them.

1.   We have FANDOMS where everyone is basically dedicated to a certain book.
2.   We get to smell the books. (I know you people do that)
3.   We get excited over the release dates of a sequel of a book, a certain book or the               movie adaptation of a book.
4.   When we watch the movie adaptations in the cinema, we react to the adapted parts           which are wrong which adds excitement compared to just watching.
5.   We have words or jokes that no one else knows except for the people in the fandom.
6.   We get really good in English and sometimes (or always) use words that had not been       used for a long time.
7.   The money we spend is not wasted on useless stuff like drugs and we don't get                 pregnant because the only people we love are fictional characters.
8.   We get to live in multiple different worlds and get to be friends with the characters.
9.   According to studies, people who read have stronger imagination.
10. We will someday rule the world because of our unlimited intelligence.

     Why we shouldn't read books:

1. CHARACTERS DIE

This is all for now. Goodbye and DFTBA!
