ALLEGANT: Book Review

I know it's a bit late to post this but I've been planning to blog this since January but I've been procrastinating. I also know that I'm a bit late with reading this book as I have only finished this earlier this January. I'm sorry and don't judge me because I didn't read this because the movie will come out soon. I actually saw this when Divergent was newly released but as you know (or not) times are tough and I don't have money. Haha. So here it is.

I am a little late in posting this because the movie is coming out on March but I want to blog about this and you really can't do anything about it because this is my blog. Anyways, I HATE THIS BOOK. If you haven't read the book yet then I suggest you leave this blog post and go to the others or just leave this blog and then come back later after you finish the book because this will contain A LOT of spoilers but if you like spoilers then you may continue reading. This book gave me a lot of feels. I know from the start that the Divergent series is a dystopian one but I read it anyway and I wish I hadn't. Not really but I know that deep inside you also thought of this after you read the part where Tris died and Tobias was left heartbroken someone had gone somewhere, never came back and left the love of her life lonely.

I mean, I like the writing and all because let's face it: Veronica Roth is an exceptional (and very pretty) author and I'm not saying that I hate the book because I really like it. That part where I said I 'hate' the book is just the feels talking. The book is really great and detailed but in my opinion, this is my second favorite book in the series -the first one being Insurgent- because I feel like some characters have not been given enough screen time (I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense I don't know what it's called in books) and they just focused on Tris. I love Tris, I mean I cried when she died went somewhere but I like the other characters as well and I'm just sad that they were shown only when they do something life threatening or if they will die. I like this book very much but I wouldn't read this again unless I want to be heartbroken which is very unlikely.

I know I said on my previous blog post that I will review the trilogy but we're so busy with school right now and stuff but I will still post stuff.

Goodbye and don't forget to be awesome.

Adventures with the Clique

Yesterday, January 18, 2014, my friends and I had the pleasure to meet the award winning author, Gayle Forman. She is the author of If I Stay, Where She Went (which is the second book of If I Stay), Just One Day, Just One Year and Sisters in Sanity.

While in line during registration

Me, Arianne, Ivy and Ian 6 hours before the event

We went to the place where the event will be held, which in this case, is at National Book Store. The registration started at 10 am in the morning, which is when the mall will be opened so we were there at around 9:40 am. The line was already quite long when we got there and if you look closely at our books, they have small stickers with numbers and we're numbers 86-89. I'm number 87.

My birthday was last Sunday, January 12, so we just celebrated my birthday there and ate. We also went to the bookstores and I bought the Hollow City and The Diviners. My friends gave me City Of Bones and The Fall Of Five for my birthday and I WAS SO HAPPY.

Then, before we know it, it's time...
Gayle Forman being interviewed by the granddaughter of the owner of the bookstore
We talked to people as well, which is great because all of the people there are bookworms like us.

About half of the people who went to the event.

We had to wait for about 30 minutes before they call our number but it was worth it.

Gayle Forman signing my book.
I was so nervous and when it's my turn she said 'hi' and then I asked her to hug me. She smiled first and then opened her arms and I hugged her and then we took a picture together. I'm only going to be able to show my picture because they didn't allow me to include theirs.

Me with Gayle Forman

So after that, I got off the stage and I tried so hard not to cry but I can't help it and I can't stop the tears from coming.

My signed copies of If I Stay, Where She Went, Just One Day and Just One Year.

This is the first book signing event I have been able to go to so this is a really unforgettable moment for me and for my friends as well. Gayle was so nice and sweet. It's such a pleasure to meet such a phenomenal writer and I would definitely do it again soon. Actually we are actually planning on going to another event where we can meet 3 authors. The authors are Tahereh Mafi, Ransom Riggs and Veronica Rossi. It'll be on April but I CAN'T WAIT.

This is my blog about my first book signing event. I hoped you enjoyed it and I'll be writing a review about the Divergent trilogy so watch out for that. I'll also blog my encounter with the 3 authors mentioned above as soon as possible (its on April so I'll post it afterwards). You can comment a book that you would like me to review and I'll read it (if I've not read it yet), do a review about it and mention your blog.

Goodbye, read more and don't forget to be awesome. (DFTBA!!!)
